Finished portrait of "Dede"

I didn't want to post this until I knew the owner had received it and it wasn't going to ruin anyone's holiday surprise, but here is my finished portrait of the beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback, Dede, who makes her home in Marin County. It was lovely to focus on such a gorgeous dog and I loved her serene yet focused expression.

Dede's owner was the highest bidder on this commission (as a gift certificate) benefitting Marin Services for Women, one of my favorite organizations, at a fundraising dinner and auction so I thank her for her generosity!

A fun world where an adored dog, a generous owner, a love for oil paint can combine to make a little contribution to someone finding a whole new life in sobriety! Yay team.
